The Role
Working within our Finance & Treasury Department, this role is focused on supporting the Finance Manager. Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Finance Officer, your daily activities will include:
- Process supplier invoices and assist in the preparation of payment runs in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Finance team as required.
- Assist in gathering information and documentation required for internal and external audits.
- Assist the Finance team with month-end activities and support the preparation of routine internal reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure supporting documentation is filed appropriately.
- Perform bank, system and general ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies identified.
- Support the preparation of VAT, tax and regulatory returns under the guidance of senior team members.
- Update and maintain financial procedures, records and departmental documentation as required.
Skills and Experience Required
- Be in possession of an A-level in Accounting and/or currently pursuing ACCA or an equivalent qualification
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ related work experience, preferably within the banking or financial sector.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics would be considered an asset.
- Be proactive in your approach and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Have an advanced working knowledge of Excel and a sound IT aptitude.
- Have excellent analytical, problem solving and report writing skills.
- Be fluent in Maltese and English.
